| 内容記述 | The objective of this article is to clarify the importance of learning about Asia in EFL classes from elementary school to university. English is a global language not only for its native speakers but also for non-native speakers. However, EFL teachers in Japan have been apt to deal with more European and American cultures in classes. In order to foster global citizens who respect every country equally, it is important to teach more about Asia in EFL classes. In this article, units about Asia in English textbooks used by Japanese students are to be introduced with suggestions for deepening their content. I will also illustrate my original lesson plan using the picture book of dreams of street children in Asia and the picture letters of encouragement from Turkish children after the East Japan Great Earthquake. | |||||||||||
