English is a global language not only for its native speakers but also for non-native speakers. However, EFL teachers in Japan have been apt to deal with more European and American cultures in classes. In order to foster global citizens who respect every country equally, it is important to teach more about Asia in EFL classes. In this article, units about Asia in English textbooks used by Japanese students are to be introduced with suggestions for deepening their content.
