Particularly, we attempt to analyze the reasons for the Japanese trade deficit in ICT services. The RCA index shows that Japan has a comparative advantage in ICT products but not in ICT services. Our cross-country regression for 13 OECD countries reveals that a relative abundance of high-skilled labor is likely to be the source of the comparative advantage in ICT services.
