From the view point of the flow of information, the models of human memory are classified into three categories; the information-processing model, and the schema-theory model, and the integrated information-processing model. The information-processing model is formed of both plural memory systems and the flow of information through them. Secondly, the schema which is the organized information within long-term memory serves as the frame of reference in perception, memory, and understanding in the schema-theory model. Finally, the integrated information-processing model consists of the two models mentioned above. Two kinds of flow of information are supposed in the integrated model, one is the flow of information from sensory memory and the other is that from long-term memory.
