These crises can even result in company bankruptcies. One reason for such disastrous results is that the companies have not addressed impression management effectively during an organizational crisis. Indeed, sometimes companies suffer catastrophic damage, not as a result of the crisis itself, but from their corporate images becoming seriously tarnished because of how they responded to the crisis. What are the reasons that organizations fail to provide effective impression management during organizational crises?\n This study examines the case of the SNOW BRAND food-poisoning incidents and shows how the company failed to respond properly to this organizational crisis. The reason for faulty responses to such crises is often considered to be that the management lacks a sense of morality, or that the organizational culture favors cover-up.
