Abe swiftly formed the Education Rebuilding Council whose purpose was to discuss the current state of education and develop a set of proposals for education reform. This paper utilizes Critical Discourse Analysis as a research tool to examine a selection of texts from the Japanese Education Rebuilding Council Meetings held between 2006-2007.
