Becoming aware of how these values affect teachers’ priorities and actions in the classroom is an important step in understanding the concept of core beliefs and how they are situated within the realm of theory and practice. This paper explores three core beliefs of one teacher and how she comes to terms with each one by determining its relevance in the field of TESOL research.
